2500 seat auditorium and concert hall located at the juction of Buchanan Street and Sauchiehall Street, adjoined to the Buchanan Galleries shopping centre.

Owned by Glasgow City Council and run by Glasgow Cultural Enterprises Ltd.

Opened by Princess Anne on the 5th of October 1990. Designed by Sir Leslie Martin and built in roughly 864 days to coincide with Glasgow's reign as European City of Culture at a cost of £31 million. Mostly paid for by the European Community, the District Council and Strathclyde Regional Council.

Approximately 500,000 visitors per year with an annual turnover of £6 million. Employs 64 full-time, 13 part-time and 92 casual staff
