The PowerStation was a rock club run by rockers for rockers in Cheapside Street, just under the M8 flyover at Charing Cross.

The club boasted that in it's time it would let you in after the curfew and had a policy that protected the longer haired loving rock music enthusiast. The secret of its success was that it brought many main acts from Skidrow, Lovehate to Dogs damour, Black Crows to after gig parties it hosted. It seemed to live for one long summer and then vanished, obviously overpowered by the more established nightclubs that catered for the market.

In it's time it provoked a culture that a good time in the rock scene could be cheaper with the quality and beyond that others were very much jealous of. Run by the illustrious Sean (JJ Deluxe the manager to successes such as Vicious Irene) it had a brief moment of glory and fame with wonder bras being banded it will be remembered by many young ladies and men as the place that was a more relaxed place to go, a star in it’s time.
