The Norsk Bar
From Glasgow
Circa 1970s. Now occupied by the Variety Bar, on the corner of Sauchiehall Street and Elmbank Street.
This bar featured a lounge area in the basement, which, however, is not present in the current Variety Bar.
This bar was previously known as The King's Arms.
It was bought by two bricklayers (who are reported to have made their money repairing damage caused by the Glasgow hurricane in January 1968) who named it The Norsk.
