The Bento Bar

Closed circa June 2008. Was located at 1 Lyndoch Street. It has since reopened as Cyrus Party Rooms.

Situated on the corner of Woodlands Road and Lyndoch Street.

Previously occupied by Insomnia, and prior to that The Bear Pit, and once earlier by Insomnia Underground.

Food served 7 days, noon - 6pm. Bar open noon - midnight (open 'til 1am Friday & Saturday).

Located the basement of the building, with large leather sofas and an open fire.

Reportedly they are planning to expand upwards into the old Music Academy sometime in 2005/6.

Bento — Japanese for a single-portion takeout meal. A traditional bento consists of rice, fish or meat and one or more pickled or cooked vegetables as a side dish.

Although The Bento Bar is not a Japenese themed restaurant an evening menu is planned that will offer different bento boxes with cuisines from Japan, China and Italy.
