Some guidelines on keeping things consistent.

  • When adding a pub or restaurant (in fact when adding most things) put it in two categories (if applicable), for example, Panjea, an indian restaurant, is listed in Category:Restaurants and Category:Indian Restaurants so it shows up in both categories. This gives an overview of all the restaurants, and also the option of narrowing down the list to just indian restauarnts. Note the naming scheme 'Indian Restaurants', 'Chinese Restaurants', 'Seafood Restaurants' etc.
  • If an article name starts with 'The' or something that will cause it to show up incorrectly in the alphabetical category lists, it can be forced into order by using
    [[Category:Restaurants|Koh-i-noor]]
The name after the pipe symbol is what is used when sorting them alphabetically.
  • Dealing with street names. One example we've encountered so far, streets named after saints. We've abbreviated the Saint as St. (with the period) and the possive name, eg. George with it's apostrophe, George's. i.e. Category:St. George's Road.
