Starting as Beith Street and running through the heart of Glasgow's West End Byres Road connects Dumbarton Road with Great Western Road eventually becoming Queen Margaret Drive.

Originally formed through a small village (or clachan) called the Byres of Partick (also known as Bishop's Byres). An attempt was made to change the name to Victoria Road but the plans were cancelled due to considerable objection from the residents.
